Tue Nov 05 20:47:00 UTC 2024: ## Pakistani Guard Shoots Two Chinese Nationals in Karachi Textile Mill
**KARACHI, PAKISTAN -** A Pakistani security guard opened fire on two Chinese nationals working in a textile mill in Karachi on Tuesday, leaving them wounded. While authorities have arrested the guard and are investigating the incident, they have ruled out any link to militant violence.
This latest incident comes amidst heightened security concerns for Chinese nationals working in Pakistan, following a suicide bombing near Karachi airport last month that killed two Chinese citizens.
Thousands of Chinese workers are present in Pakistan, employed on various projects under Beijing’s multibillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative, as well as in factories across the country.
The provincial home department spokesperson, Suhail Jokhoio, stated that the wounded Chinese workers were taken to a hospital and that investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the guard’s actions.
Pakistan has repeatedly pledged to provide robust security measures for Chinese citizens working in the country.
