**Thanjavur, November 6, 2024:** Farmers in Thanjavur district can receive a maximum of ₹36,500 in compensation for crop loss during the current ‘rabi and rabi special’ seasons, announced Collector B. Priyanka Pankajam today. The insurance scheme covers ‘samba or thaladi’ paddy crops.

To be eligible for the compensation, farmers must pay a premium of ₹548 per acre. The deadline for premium payment is November 15th.

The news comes as a welcome relief for farmers in the region, who face a constant threat of crop loss due to unpredictable weather patterns. This insurance scheme aims to provide financial security and reduce the financial burden on farmers in case of crop failure.
