Tue Nov 05 08:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Telangana Announces Twice-Yearly Teacher Eligibility Test for 2025

**Hyderabad, November 4, 2024** – The Telangana government has announced the dates for the second Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) of 2024, making it the first state to conduct the test twice in a single year. This decision was made following a recommendation from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The TET-2024-II will be conducted online from January 1 to 20, 2025, as a computer-based test. Aspiring candidates can apply online from November 5 to 20. The detailed notification will be available on the official website, schooledu.telangana.gov.in.

The initiative to hold two TETs in a year is aimed at offering more flexibility and opportunities to candidates seeking to acquire the qualifying certificate. There is no limit on the number of attempts, and even those who have already cleared the TET can retake it to improve their scores.

The TET qualifying certificate will be valid for life, unless otherwise stated by the government. Candidates who failed the previous TET, conducted in March 2024, can apply for the upcoming test without paying any fee.

The decision to hold two TETs comes after the Election Commission rejected the government’s proposal to reduce the application fee during the previous test due to election code restrictions. The March TET saw over 2.86 lakh candidates register, with approximately 57,700 qualifying for paper-I and 51,400 for paper-II.
