**New Delhi:** Renowned folk singer Sharda Sinha, who has been battling health issues for a prolonged period, has been placed back on ventilator support at the AIIMS hospital in Delhi. This comes after her oxygen levels dropped significantly on Monday night, leading to her being shifted to the ICU for further observation.

Sinha’s son, Anshuman Sinha, confirmed the news, adding that his mother is facing a difficult battle. He expressed his concern over the situation, stating that this is a particularly challenging phase.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Anshuman Sinha on Tuesday, inquiring about Sharda Sinha’s health. The Prime Minister assured Anshuman Sinha that he is praying for her well-being and expressed his support.

Sharda Sinha, a recipient of the Padma Bhushan award, is known for her popular renditions of Chhath Puja songs, particularly the iconic “**Keelwa ke pat par ugelan Surajmal**” and “**Sunah chhathi mai**.” She had been admitted to AIIMS for the treatment of Multiple Myeloma, a type of blood cancer.

In recent days, rumors about her health have been circulating on social media, prompting Anshuman Sinha to request the public not to spread misinformation. He appealed for prayers and support during this challenging time.

Sharda Sinha, hailed as the “**Kokila of Bihar**,” has a rich legacy of popularizing folk music across various languages like Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi. She held a prominent position as Head of the Music Department at Samastipur Women’s College.
