**NEW DELHI, November 5, 2024** – The Press Club of India (PCI) has condemned the arrest of journalist Imran Khan in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, for his coverage of an Opposition leader’s press conference during the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year.
The PCI expressed concern that the arrest came months after the election, at the complaint of the local MP. The Uttar Pradesh Police filed an FIR and apprehended Khan on Sunday morning.
