**Beirut, Lebanon -** Israeli airstrikes continued to pummel Lebanon on Sunday, killing three people in the southern city of Sidon and injuring nine others. The strikes also hit a building in the nearby town of Ghaziyeh, with a child rescued alive from the rubble.
The Lebanese Red Cross recovered five bodies from the rubble in the flashpoint town of Khiam, where 21 people have been trapped for a week. Emergency teams had been unable to access the town due to ongoing clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli ground forces.
The strikes also damaged a governmental hospital in Tebnine, potentially putting the facility out of service. Further north, an Israeli strike hit near a hospital in Baalbek, though damage was minor and the hospital remains operational.
The strikes followed an Israeli evacuation warning for the Baalbek region, where Hezbollah holds significant influence. The strikes in the area destroyed a restaurant just meters away from the city’s public hospital.
The escalating conflict has resulted in the deaths of more than 1,930 people in Lebanon since September 23, according to an AFP tally. The true number may be higher due to reporting gaps.
