**LOS ANGELES** – Comedian Jimmy Kimmel expressed disbelief that newly-surfaced claims about Donald Trump’s relationship with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have not significantly impacted the upcoming election.
During his final “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show before the election, Kimmel addressed recently released audio recordings from journalist Michael Wolff’s podcast “Fire and Fury.” The recordings reportedly feature Epstein discussing his close friendship with Trump in graphic detail, including claims that Trump admitted to having affairs with his friends’ wives.
“We heard a bombshell audio tape in which Jeffrey Epstein says he was Trump’s closest friend and shares a bunch of crazy stories,” Kimmel stated incredulously. “This barely moves the needle?”
Kimmel highlighted Epstein’s description of Trump’s “lack of moral compass,” comparing it to “R Kelly getting mad at you for leaving the toilet seat up.”
The Daily Beast reported that the audio recordings contain Epstein’s damning assessment of Trump, stating that he “has no moral compass.” The news outlet also pointed to a June interview where Trump hesitated when asked if he would declassify Epstein files, unlike his immediate agreement to declassify 9/11 and JFK files.
Trump’s 2024 campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt dismissed the claims as “outlandish false smears” by a “disgraced writer” attempting to “engage in blatant election interference.”
Kimmel’s remarks come as Trump faces mounting allegations of misconduct and questionable behavior, many of which have failed to significantly impact his political standing.
