**New Delhi, November 4, 2024:** A devastating fire at a furniture godown in Kirti Nagar, west Delhi, early Sunday morning claimed the lives of two people. The victims, identified as a laborer and a rickshaw-puller, were found dead in a room on the godown’s terrace, where the fire originated.
According to police, the fire broke out around 4:25 am. Six fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, and two individuals were rescued and transported to a nearby hospital. However, a room on the terrace was found locked from inside. Upon forcing entry, police discovered the two deceased individuals.
Initial investigations suggest that the cause of death was suffocation. A forensics team has been called in to determine the exact cause of the fire, and legal action will be taken based on their findings.
