**Visakhapatnam, November 4, 2024:** With the tourist season kicking off in the Araku Valley, the Visakhapatnam Range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Gopinath Jatti, has ordered a heightened security presence in the area. During a visit to the Araku Valley Police Station on Monday, Mr. Jatti met with the local police force, including Sub-Inspector Gopala Rao, and discussed measures to ensure the safety and security of tourists.
Mr. Jatti highlighted the potential increase in criminal activity during the peak tourist season. He instructed the police to closely monitor all activities in tourist areas, particularly those related to illegal activities such as prostitution, ganja smuggling, and other criminal offenses. He emphasized the need for increased vigilance in lodges, hotels, and private locations.
The DIG further stressed the importance of providing round-the-clock service to the public and tourists. He directed the police to work diligently to prevent any untoward incidents within the station limits, both during the tourist season and on regular days.
