Mon Nov 04 14:00:05 UTC 2024: ## Fake Interpol Notice Claims Amit Shah is on Wanted List

**New Delhi, November 4, 2024:** A graphic card circulating on social media falsely claims that Interpol has issued a “wanted” notice for India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This fake news has been widely shared by Pakistani and Canadian social media users, fueled by the recent tensions between India and Canada.

The graphic card, which features Amit Shah’s photo, was shared on November 1 by a Pakistan-based Facebook page named Khaber.tv. The post alleged that credible sources confirmed Shah’s inclusion on Interpol’s wanted list following accusations by Canada’s Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister David Morrison. Morrison accused Shah of ordering violence and intimidation against Sikh separatists in Canada.

The PTI Fact Check Desk, however, found the graphic to be fabricated. A thorough investigation revealed that Interpol has not issued any such notice regarding Amit Shah. Google Lens searches failed to produce any credible news reports corroborating the claim. Further investigation on Interpol’s official website using the keyword “Amit Shah” yielded no results.

The investigation conclusively proves that the graphic card is fake and that Interpol has not issued any notice about Amit Shah. The recent tensions between India and Canada appear to be driving the spread of misinformation and fake news on social media.
