Sun Nov 03 20:08:00 UTC 2024: ## BJP Confident of Sweeping Uttar Pradesh Bypolls, Claims Deputy CM Maurya

**Lucknow, November 4, 2024:** Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has expressed unwavering confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning all nine assembly seats in the upcoming bypolls. Speaking at a booth level conference in Phulpur, one of the constituencies going to the polls on November 13, Maurya declared that the people of Uttar Pradesh have recognized the BJP’s “lotus” as a symbol of trust, while associating the Samajwadi Party’s “cycle” with deceit.

“The people have decided to vote for the BJP alliance in all nine seats by a large margin,” he asserted, adding that this will lay a strong foundation for the BJP to secure a third consecutive term in the 2027 state elections.

Maurya further criticized the Samajwadi Party’s “PDA” (Progressive Development Alliance) as merely a facade for the family of party chief Akhilesh Yadav. He alleged that the alliance is merely a vehicle for “family development,” pointing to the dominance of relatives in the party’s ticket distribution.

In contrast, Maurya highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to strengthening democracy by promoting youth leadership from diverse backgrounds, thereby combating nepotism.

The bypolls, scheduled for November 13, will be held in nine assembly seats across Uttar Pradesh, including Sisamau, Katehri, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Majhwan, Karhal, Khair, Phulpur, and Meerapur. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
