**Visakhapatnam, November 4, 2024:** YSRCP leader Gudivada Amarnath has launched a scathing attack on the NDA coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, accusing them of increasing prices of essential commodities while simultaneously lowering liquor prices.
Amarnath claimed that the government has failed to implement its election promise of “Thalliki Vandanam” and has not launched any of the “Super Six” schemes. He also criticized the government’s lack of action on rising commodity prices, arguing that they are prioritizing the liquor business instead.
The YSRCP leader further criticized former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s silence on the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant issue, accusing him of engaging in “diversion politics” by focusing on the Rushikonda palace. Amarnath questioned Naidu’s claim of not knowing how to utilize the palace, reminding him of the temporary Secretariat building constructed in Amaravati during his previous tenure. He challenged Naidu to also show the people the other infrastructure projects built during his tenure.
Amarnath emphasized Visakhapatnam’s importance as the second growth engine of the unified Andhra Pradesh, highlighting former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s efforts to develop the city and designate it as the Executive Capital. He accused the current government of neglecting the people of Vizianagaram district, citing the recent deaths due to diarrhoea in Gurla.
Finally, he countered the NDA government’s claims regarding the proposed investments of ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, stating that the YSRCP government had already allocated land for these projects and facilitated the land pooling process. He also clarified that the new railway zone land allocation was initiated by the YSRCP government, not the current coalition government.
