**Darbhanga, Bihar:** The long-awaited Darbhanga AIIMS project is finally taking shape. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the medical institute on November 13th. The announcement was made by Darbhanga Nagar MLA Sanjay Sarawagi.

The event will likely be attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The central government has entrusted the construction of the AIIMS to the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC).

A budget of 1261 crore rupees has been allocated for the project, with the possibility of an increase in the future. The state government has provided 188 acres of land for the second AIIMS in Bihar. The hospital will cover over 2.25 lakh square meters and will take three years to complete.

The Darbhanga AIIMS aims to provide high-quality medical education and care to a vast population at a low cost. It will feature a fully equipped hospital, a medical college, an AYUSH hospital, and residential facilities for doctors, staff, and students.

The AIIMS Darbhanga is part of the Indian government’s initiative to establish a nationwide network of All India Institutes of Medical Sciences. This initiative aims to improve healthcare access and quality across the country. The announcement of the AIIMS in 2019 was a significant milestone for Bihar, establishing it as a major medical hub.
