Mon Nov 04 12:30:00 UTC 2024: ## PM Modi to Lay Foundation Stone for Darbhanga AIIMS on November 13th
**Darbhanga, Bihar:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Darbhanga on November 13th to lay the foundation stone for the much-awaited All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the city. The announcement was made by Darbhanga City MLA Sanjay Sarawagi.
The AIIMS Darbhanga is expected to be a state-of-the-art medical facility, with a budget of Rs. 1261 crore allocated for its construction, which could see further increases. The construction of the institute is being undertaken by HSCCC India Limited, a subsidiary of NBCC Ltd.
The Bihar government has allocated 188 acres of land for the project, with over 2.25 lakh square meters dedicated to the AIIMS buildings. The project is targeted for completion in three years.
The AIIMS Darbhanga will offer a comprehensive range of medical services, including a fully equipped care hospital, a medical college, an Ayush hospital, and accommodation facilities for doctors, staff, and students.
The new AIIMS will serve as a major medical hub in Bihar, providing high-quality medical education and healthcare services to the region, in line with the government’s vision of establishing a nationwide network of AIIMS.
