Mon Nov 04 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Siddaramaiah Accuses BJP of Political Gamesmanship in Waqf Row Protest
**Bengaluru, November 4, 2024:** Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accused the BJP of using the recent waqf row for political gain, claiming their protest is purely motivated by opportunism and not genuine concern for farmers.
Siddaramaiah pointed out that the government has already revoked all notices issued to farmers regarding waqf properties and ordered the nullification of any unauthorized amendments in land records. He emphasized that the government’s actions prioritize protecting farmers’ interests.
The Chief Minister highlighted that issuing notices for property clarification is a standard administrative procedure, and previous governments under BJP leaders like B.S. Yediyurappa and H.D. Kumaraswamy had also issued similar notices.
Siddaramaiah further criticized the BJP’s hypocrisy, citing a video of former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai addressing the Muslim community, where he stated that waqf property belongs to Allah and those who encroached on it will face his judgment.
The Chief Minister believes the BJP is attempting to distract the public from its own internal conflicts and failures. He urged the people of Karnataka to reject the BJP’s divisive agenda and work towards a unified and prosperous state.
