Sun Nov 03 20:05:46 UTC 2024: ## Former MLA Accuses Telangana Government of Ignoring Farmers’ Plight

**Sirkapur, November 2:** Former Narayankhed MLA M. Bhupal Reddy on Saturday criticized the Telangana government for failing to procure paddy from farmers despite the untimely rains damaging crops.

Bhupal Reddy, accompanied by former MPTC members Sanjeeva Rao and Shantabai, visited farmers in Sirkapur who were drying their paddy on roads after it was damaged by rains. He accused the ruling Congress party of neglecting farmers and failing to fulfill its promises, particularly the ₹500 bonus per quintal promised to farmers.

“The local MLA is busy inaugurating paddy procurement centers but has not purchased a single quintal of paddy from farmers,” Bhupal Reddy alleged. He further criticized the government’s failure to address the concerns of farmers and the lack of any action taken on its promises.

The former MLA demanded the government immediately begin paddy procurement and pay the promised bonus, threatening that the Congress leaders will face the consequences of their inaction.

Bhupal Reddy also highlighted the widespread dissatisfaction among farmers and the public towards the Congress party for failing to deliver on its promises. He accused the government of deceiving the people and called for their immediate action to address the situation.
