Sun Nov 03 13:07:45 UTC 2024: ## England Clinches Thrilling Victory in Second ODI Against West Indies
**Bridgetown, Barbados:** England captain Liam Livingstone smashed a maiden ODI century, guiding his team to a five-wicket victory over the West Indies in the second ODI at Kensington Oval on Saturday. Livingstone’s blistering 124 not out, including four fours and six sixes, overshadowed a century by West Indies skipper Shai Hope.
The victory levelled the series at 1-1, setting up a thrilling decider in the third and final ODI on Tuesday, November 6th.
Chasing a formidable target of 329, England were initially put under pressure by the West Indies bowlers. John Turner, making his second ODI appearance, dismissed both openers early. However, Phil Salt (59) and Jacob Bethell (55) stabilized the innings, before Livingstone and Sam Curran (52) formed a match-winning partnership of 140 runs.
Earlier, West Indies had recovered from a shaky start thanks to Hope’s 117, his 17th ODI century, and contributions from Keacy Carty (71) and Sherfane Rutherford (54).
Livingstone, named Player of the Match for his outstanding knock, praised Curran’s support and the team’s ability to hold their nerve under pressure. Hope, while acknowledging the disappointment of the loss, focused on the importance of team performance over personal milestones.
The final ODI is scheduled for 6 pm GMT at Kensington Oval, with the series on the line.
