**Thrissur, Kerala:** Union Minister of State for Tourism, Suresh Gopi, has been accused of using an ambulance to reach the venue of the recent Thrissur Pooram festival and faces a police case for his actions.

The Thrissur East Police registered a case against Mr. Gopi on Sunday, November 3rd, based on a complaint filed by Sumesh Bhavadas of Pullazhi. The case alleges that Mr. Gopi used an ambulance designated solely for medical emergencies and engaged in reckless driving, endangering public safety.

The case includes charges under Sections 279, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (Bharathiya Nyay Sanhita) and Sections 179, 184, and 192 of the Motor Vehicle Act. The police have also registered cases against Abhijith Nair, who accompanied Mr. Gopi in the ambulance, and the ambulance driver.

Initially, Mr. Gopi denied using an ambulance to reach the Pooram venue but later admitted to the incident. He faced criticism for his use of offensive language when demanding a CBI inquiry into the allegation.
