**Hyderabad, November 2, 2024:** Cyberabad Special Operation Team (SOT) along with Balanagar police apprehended three individuals for transporting a significant quantity of hashish oil from Odisha to Hyderabad. The accused, identified as Sabavath Suman (25), Ramavath Lalu (38), and Kethavath Vijay Kumar (32), were apprehended at the Shobhana bus stand in Balanagar.
The arrests followed a tip-off regarding the illegal transportation of narcotics. The confiscated hashish oil, amounting to 2.59 litres, is estimated to be worth ₹12.95 lakh.
Police investigations revealed that Suman and Vijay had prior criminal records, with both having been previously involved in drug-related offenses. The duo, who had met in Visakhapatnam Central Jail in 2021, planned to peddle ganja and hashish oil after their release.
Suman and Lalu traveled from Polepally village to Paderu, where they met with the supplier, Kiran, who provided the hashish oil. They then traveled to Shobhana bus stand to search for customers in Balanagar and Sanathnagar, where they encountered Vijay.
Balanagar DCP K. Suresh Kumar elaborated on the plan, stating that the trio was apprehended while attempting to sell the hashish oil to potential customers.
Besides the hashish oil, the police also seized a two-wheeler and three mobile phones. These items will be further examined as part of the ongoing investigation to uncover the extent of the drug trafficking operation.
Police efforts are underway to apprehend Kiran, the supplier, who is currently residing in Jalaput town, Odisha.
