Sun Nov 03 10:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Oklahoma City Batters by Strong Winds and Heavy Rainfall

Oklahoma City and surrounding areas were hit by heavy rainfall and strong winds early Sunday morning. The storms, tracked by KOCO 5 First Alert Storm Chasers, brought particularly hazardous conditions to areas near Moore and Norman. The winds were so strong that they caused the rain to move sideways, making driving extremely difficult.

KOCO 5 meteorologists Michael Armstrong and Nick Smith reported seeing multiple motorists driving with their hazard lights on as they attempted to navigate the treacherous roads, including Interstate 35. Nick described feeling punishing 60 mph winds while driving on I-35 in Norman.

The KOCO 5 app is urging residents to download it for customized weather alerts and live coverage of the storms.
