Sat Nov 02 18:50:00 UTC 2024: ## RB Leipzig Suffers First Bundesliga Defeat Since February

**Dortmund, Germany** – RB Leipzig’s impressive unbeaten run in the Bundesliga came to an end on Saturday with a disappointing 2:1 loss to Borussia Dortmund. The defeat, their first in the league since February, also saw them slip behind Bayern Munich in the standings.

Leipzig’s coach, Marco Rose, admitted his team’s performance was lacking, highlighting their lack of maturity and decisiveness in crucial moments. Despite taking an early lead, Leipzig failed to capitalize on their advantage and ultimately succumbed to a more passionate and determined Dortmund side.

“They were simply the better team in many aspects,” Rose acknowledged. “They were more physical, better on the ball, and made better decisions.”

Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, who made several key saves to prevent further goals, echoed Rose’s sentiments, stating that Leipzig’s performance was “not good enough.”

“We had many simple errors and lost possession too often,” Gulacsi lamented. “We made too many bad decisions, both in possession and after winning the ball.”

Captain Willi Orban also expressed disappointment, attributing the loss to their inability to reach their usual level of performance.

“We were in good form, but we didn’t reach our top performance in any area,” Orban stated. “Tactically, technically too sloppy, we lost too many balls. We didn’t deserve anything in the end.”

Rose, while acknowledging his team’s shortcomings, also pointed to the youthfulness of certain players, including 19-year-olds Arthur Vermeeren and Antonio Nusa.

“We are still a young team in certain areas,” Rose concluded. “The experience of players like Gulacsi and Orban can’t always make up for that. We have several players who are playing their first Bundesliga season. We are still learning.”

With the loss, Leipzig will be looking to bounce back quickly as they aim to maintain their position at the top of the Bundesliga table.
