**KOCHI, November 3, 2024:** The Kochi City police have implemented a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming Kerala School Sports Meet, scheduled to take place from November 4 to 11. The event, expected to draw a large crowd, will see a 1,500-strong police force deployed across 13 venues and accommodation facilities for the participants.
A round-the-clock police control room will be operational at Maharaja’s College Ground, the main venue. Special traffic regulations will be in effect on the inaugural day, starting from 1 p.m.
To manage the influx of vehicles, dedicated parking areas have been designated at Ernakulathappan parking ground, Marine Drive parking ground, Container Road, Chathyath Road, St. Albert’s School ground, and Kaloor stadium ground. Vehicles will be required to drop off participants at designated points before proceeding to the parking areas.
Parking will be prohibited on M.G. Road, Hospital Road, Park Avenue Road, P.T. Usha Road, Mullassery Canal Road, and Convent Road.
District Collector N.S.K. Umesh has assured that arrangements are in place with Kochi Metro to ensure smooth transportation of participants. The public can access information about traffic regulations by calling 1090.
