**LOS ANGELES** – Former Gold Glove outfielder Kevin Kiermaier has announced his retirement from Major League Baseball, ending his career on a high note after helping the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series.

Kiermaier, who played 34 regular season games and four playoff games for the Dodgers in 2024, announced his decision on social media Friday, just hours after celebrating the team’s championship.

The 33-year-old spent the majority of his career with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he was known for his exceptional defense. After being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2023, he joined the Dodgers at the 2024 trade deadline.

Kiermaier’s defensive prowess played a key role in the Dodgers’ championship run, adding depth and experience to the team’s outfield.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have played this game for as long as I did,” said Kiermaier in his retirement statement. “I’m retiring from the game knowing I gave it my all, and I’m proud to have contributed to a World Series victory with the Dodgers.”
