Sun Nov 03 01:53:46 UTC 2024: ## Union Minister Slams Congress Chief for “Delusional” Job Claims, Highlights India’s Economic Growth

**New Delhi:** Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, accusing him of spreading “lies and fabricated figures” regarding job creation in India. Puri’s comments come in response to Kharge’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, which he accused of failing to deliver on its election promises.

Kharge, in his statement, had described the BJP government with adjectives like “lies, deceit, fraud, loot, and publicity,” and criticized their 100-day plan as a “cheap PR stunt.” He also alleged the government was hiding information regarding their 2047 roadmap.

Responding to Kharge’s claims, Puri highlighted the significant employment growth witnessed in India under Modi’s leadership, stating that employment had increased by nearly 36%, adding around 170 million jobs between 2016-17 and 2022-23. He further pointed towards India’s steady economic trajectory, highlighting the country’s GDP growth rate of over 6.5% during the same period.

The Minister also countered Kharge’s accusations of paper leaks, arguing that such incidents were prevalent during the Congress-led UPA regimes. He alleged that the Congress, once known for its “uninformed PM,” now has a party president who is “equally unaware” of the “actual ruling trio” and their tactics.

Puri’s statement, coupled with his detailed data on employment and economic growth, presents a stark contrast to Kharge’s claims and offers a different perspective on the Modi government’s performance. The political clash highlights the ongoing tension between the BJP and Congress ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
