**CLEMSON, SC** – Clemson football continues to bolster its future, securing a commitment from four-star safety Jordan Young. Young, a standout from Monroe, North Carolina, announced his decision to join the Tigers on Saturday, choosing Clemson over NC State, Michigan, and Florida State.
Young, ranked No. 106 overall and No. 9 among all safeties in the nation by ESPN, has been a top target for Clemson since receiving an offer last June. The Tigers were initially seen as favorites to land the blue-chip prospect, but NC State gained momentum throughout the summer.
Young took multiple game-day visits to each school, including Clemson’s blowout victory over the Wolfpack in September and a recent visit for the Tigers’ win over Virginia. Last weekend, he was at Michigan for their win over in-state rival Michigan State.
Young’s commitment comes just a day after Clemson flipped four-star offensive lineman Gavin Blanchard from UCF. However, the Tigers also suffered their fifth decommitment of the 2025 class as four-star cornerback Graceson Littleton reopened his recruitment.
Young, who was named the 2024 Big 22 Player of the Year in North Carolina, joins fellow four-star safety Tae Harris in Clemson’s 2025 recruiting class, bringing the total number of verbal pledges to 14.
