Sun Nov 03 11:24:46 UTC 2024: ## Sao Paulo Grand Prix to Start Early, Amidst Tight Championship Battle

The Sao Paulo Grand Prix, the final race of the Formula 1 triple-header, will take place at Interlagos from November 1-3, with the main race starting earlier than initially scheduled at 15:00 GMT on Sunday, November 3. The race is set to be a dramatic affair, with the championship battle reaching fever pitch after the Mexican Grand Prix.

Lando Norris, who finished second in Mexico, has significantly cut Max Verstappen’s championship lead down to 47 points. Norris has labeled Verstappen “dangerous” after the latter received two 10-second penalties in Mexico, eventually finishing sixth.

The race in Brazil is expected to be a wet one, with thundery showers predicted for all three days of track action. The highest chance of rain is expected during the 71-lap race on Sunday.

In the constructors’ championship, Ferrari has overtaken Red Bull to claim second place after their podium finish in Mexico. They are now just 29 points behind the leading McLaren team.

With four races remaining, including two sprint events, 120 points are still up for grabs. The Sao Paulo Grand Prix is set to be a thrilling conclusion to the season, with the championship battle and constructors’ standings still very much alive.

Fans can follow all the action on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, BBC Sounds, and the BBC Sport website and app. The Chequered Flag podcast will also provide a preview and review of the race.
