This factual error drew criticism from social media users and notably, Zubeida’s son, Khalid Mohammed, who took to Twitter to express his displeasure. He clarified that his mother was not the actress, but rather a woman who was forbidden from pursuing a career in acting by her father.
Despite the error, Varun Dhawan charmed the audience with his wit and recalled a childhood anecdote about being intimidated by Amitabh Bachchan during the filming of ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. He also impressed the megastar with his dancing skills.
