**Hanuman Junction, November 3, 2024** – The auspicious Karthika Maas commenced on Saturday with the traditional lighting of the Akasa Deepa (sky lamp) in Shivalayas across the Krishna district.
In Perikedu, the Mukteswaralaya witnessed the lighting of the Akasa Deepa following special poojas conducted by priests Kundurthi Shyam and Seetharamaiah. The event saw participation from several devotees, including Nanduuri Sharma, Kollimarla Rangarao, and Nakka Babu.
At the Shiva temple in Kanumolu, the Akasa Deepa was lit by priest Pawan Sharma. Meanwhile, in Veeravalli, the Kondeshwaraswami temple saw special poojas conducted by priest Murali, culminating in the lighting of the sky lamp.
Devotees flocked to the Shivalayas, chanting Shiva’s name, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy temple on Nujiviedu Road, Hanuman Junction, also marked the beginning of Karthika Maas. After special poojas were performed, the Akasa Deepa was lit at the temple flagstaff by priest Chakravadhanula Seetharamaacharyulu under the supervision of the temple trust members Kakani Babu, Tava Purnachandra Rao, and EO Srinivas. Devotees attended the ceremony and received prasadam.
