**Hyderabad, November 2, 2024:** The Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has arrested a man for defrauding two investors of ₹1.7 crore in a real estate scam. Udandapuram Narsimlu, a resident of Ratnapur village in Medak, was apprehended following a complaint filed by NVV Subrahmanyam, a priest at Sri Nikhila Sai Maitreya Madhusudhana Saraswati Peetham.

Narsimlu, posing as a government employee, promised Subrahmanyam a plot of land in Shivampet for constructing a temple. He forged documents, including a pahani (land record), and convinced the priest to invest ₹1.2 crore. Using the same modus operandi, he also swindled ₹50 lakh from another investor, Aleti Kumar.

The accused’s elaborate scheme involved creating fake documents and using his position, which he falsely claimed to hold, to gain the trust of the victims.

Cyberabad EOW DCP K Prasad confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the extent of the fraud. The police are warning the public to exercise caution while investing in real estate and to verify all documents carefully before parting with any funds.
