Sat Nov 02 10:07:26 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Defeats India in Hong Kong Sixes Opener
**Hong Kong, November 1:** Pakistan kicked off the Hong Kong Sixes tournament with a resounding victory, defeating India by 6 wickets in the opening match. Pakistan chased down India’s target of 120 runs in just five overs, without losing a single wicket.
The tournament, which returns after a seven-year hiatus, features 12 teams divided into four groups of three. India and Pakistan are in Pool C alongside the UAE.
India’s captain Robin Uthappa and Bharat Chipli put up a valiant fight, scoring 53 runs in 16 balls, helping India reach 119 runs in 6 overs. However, Pakistan’s strong batting performance, anchored by a half-century partnership between Asif and Muhammad, proved too much for India.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. In a thrilling display of power hitting, Chipli smashed 32 runs in a single over, including two sixes and four fours, but Pakistan’s bowlers held their nerve and kept India’s score in check.
Pakistan will now look to continue their winning momentum and qualify for the knockout stage, while India will need to regroup and find their form in their remaining group matches.
The Hong Kong Sixes, a three-day tournament, will culminate in the final on November 3.
