Fri Nov 01 19:02:01 UTC 2024: ## India Loses to Pakistan in Hong Kong Sixes Tournament Opener

Hong Kong, November 1, 2024 – India’s campaign in the Hong Kong Sixes tournament got off to a disappointing start with a six-wicket loss to arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match. Captain Robin Uthappa and Bharat Chipli led the charge for India, scoring 31 and 53 runs respectively, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win.

India posted a target of 119 runs in their allotted six overs, thanks to some explosive batting by Uthappa and Chipli. Chipli, who reached a half-century, was forced to retire hurt as per tournament rules.

Pakistan, however, chased down the target with ease, with Asif Ali scoring a quick-fire 55 off 14 balls and Mohammad Akhlaq remaining unbeaten on 40 runs off 12 balls. Captain Faheem Ashraf also contributed with an unbeaten 22 runs off 5 balls.

India will now look to bounce back in their upcoming matches against other teams in the tournament.
