Fri Nov 01 23:22:09 UTC 2024: ## Emirates Expands Vietnam Presence with New Partnerships

**Dubai, UAE** – Emirates, the Dubai-based airline, has announced two new partnerships in Vietnam, aiming to strengthen its position in the Southeast Asian country. The airline signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with both Vietnam Airlines and VietJet, reflecting its commitment to expanding its reach and boosting tourism between the UAE and Vietnam.

The agreement with Vietnam Airlines, which dates back to 1994, will go beyond their existing interline agreement to explore potential collaborations in loyalty programs, cargo services, and technical support.

Meanwhile, the partnership with VietJet focuses on encouraging travel between the two nations. The agreement explores joint initiatives to improve connectivity to popular destinations within Vietnam and the region, leveraging VietJet’s hubs in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.

Emirates Deputy President and CCO Adnan Kazim highlighted the potential of Vietnam as a key market for tourism growth. “We look forward to growing our footprint in Vietnam and exploring more opportunities to widen the scope of our partnerships in the future,” he stated.

These partnerships align with ongoing efforts by both governments to bolster tourism and trade ties. The recent signing of the UAE-Vietnam Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, the first free trade deal between Vietnam and a Middle Eastern country, is a testament to this. In the first half of 2024, trade between the two nations grew by 43% year-on-year, reaching $3.2 billion.

Emirates currently operates the only nonstop passenger flights between the UAE and Vietnam, offering daily service from Dubai International Airport to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, providing approximately 11,500 two-way seats weekly. The airline will introduce a second daily flight to Ho Chi Minh City on January 15, 2025, to cater to growing travel demand ahead of the Lunar New Year.
