Patna, [Date]: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the results for the Head Teacher and Principal recruitment exam. A total of 42,918 candidates have been declared successful, with 36,947 passing the Head Teacher exam and 5971 clearing the Principal exam.
The exam was held on June 28th and 29th, with around 1.50 lakh candidates appearing for the test. The BPSC had initially announced 40,247 Head Teacher posts, but later reduced the number to 37,947. The Principal posts, totaling 6061, were for higher secondary schools.
The successful candidates will be appointed to fill vacancies for Head Teachers in schools from classes 1 to 8. The Principal positions will be for schools in classes 9 to 12. The Principal posts in higher secondary schools have been categorized based on reservation criteria, with 1340 positions for the unreserved category, 576 for the economically weaker section, 1283 for Scheduled Castes, 128 for Scheduled Tribes, 1595 for Extremely Backward Classes, and 1139 for Backward Classes.
The Principal’s basic salary for classes 9 to 12 will be ₹35,000 per month, along with allowances as applicable by the state government. The age limit for the positions varies depending on whether the teacher works in a Panchayati Raj Institution or a municipality.
