Sat Nov 02 16:19:00 UTC 2024: ## BJP Accuses Congress of ‘Crisis of Credibility’, Highlights Modi Government’s Achievements
**New Delhi, November 2, 2024:** The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Indian National Congress, accusing the opposition party of a “crisis of credibility” and highlighting the Modi government’s achievements. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi asserted that the BJP stands for the credibility of its promises, while the Congress has a history of unfulfilled pledges.
Trivedi highlighted the Modi government’s focus on wealth creation and its subsequent distribution through various welfare schemes, including health insurance, free grains, and cash transfers for farmers. He contrasted this with the Congress’ alleged record of corruption and wealth destruction.
Trivedi also cited several accomplishments of the Modi government, including the construction of the Ram temple, the abrogation of Article 370, the construction of millions of homes for the poor, the opening of over 51 crore Jan Dhan accounts, and India’s firm stance against terrorism.
He further rebutted Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s criticism of the Modi government’s promises, pointing to significant improvements in infrastructure, employment, and economic growth under the BJP’s rule.
Trivedi also dismissed Kharge’s claim that the BJP was making “jumla” (empty promises), stating that the Congress’ own promises were unrealistic and financially unsustainable.
He concluded by emphasizing Prime Minister Modi’s global stature, citing his recent warm reception in the US, Russia, and Ukraine.
The BJP’s attack comes after a heated exchange between the two parties, with PM Modi accusing the Congress of making empty promises, and Kharge countering by criticizing the BJP’s alleged record of betrayal. This latest salvo marks a continuation of the escalating war of words between the ruling party and its main opposition.
