Sat Nov 02 07:00:39 UTC 2024: ## India Stumbles After Strong Kiwi Bowling Performance in Mumbai Test

**MUMBAI:** India’s hopes of a strong start to the second Test against New Zealand were dashed on Day 1, as the hosts ended the day on 4 wickets down, trailing by 142 runs.

The Kiwis, after being bundled out for 235 in their first innings thanks to a five-wicket haul from Ravindra Jadeja, put up a strong bowling performance to restrict India’s batting lineup.

Will Young and Daryl Mitchell both scored half-centuries for New Zealand, while Washington Sundar also chipped in with a crucial wicket.

However, the Indian bowlers were unable to replicate their success with the bat. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both stars of the side, disappointed their fans with early dismissals, leaving the remaining batsmen to navigate a tricky pitch.

With the first day ending with India on 93/4, it remains to be seen if they can recover and mount a strong challenge in the remaining days of the Test.
