Fri Nov 01 23:21:22 UTC 2024: ## YCP’s “Diversionary Tactics” Exposed: Polawram Height Controversy Revived Amidst Asset Case Heat

**Hyderabad:** Amidst mounting public scrutiny over his family’s assets controversy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is facing a fresh wave of criticism over his government’s handling of the Polawram Project. While Jagan struggles to control the damaging narrative surrounding his assets, his media team is busy crafting a new distraction – re-igniting the debate over the project’s height.

The YCP government has been accused of deliberately downplaying the project’s height, citing past promises made by Jagan himself during his tenure as Leader of the Opposition. This fuels further criticism as the previous TDP government, led by N. Chandrababu Naidu, had advocated for a higher dam to facilitate the ambitious “River Interlinking Project.”

“While the TDP government had always maintained a 45.72 meter height for the project, Jagan himself had agreed to a 41.15 meter height to appease his legal troubles,” claimed a TDP spokesperson. “Now, with the project nearing completion, the YCP is attempting to create a new narrative to divert attention from the real issues.”

The YCP, however, maintains a staunch stance on the project, reiterating their commitment to completing it as per the revised height. However, observers point out that the YCP’s sudden focus on the Polawram project, after years of neglecting it, reeks of desperation.

“This is a blatant attempt to deflect attention from the serious allegations surrounding Jagan’s assets,” stated a political commentator. “Their desperation is evident as they scramble to find any possible distraction.”

The Polawram project, a lifeline for the delta region, is fraught with controversy and delays. This latest attempt by the YCP government to twist the narrative surrounding it further raises concerns about their commitment to its timely completion.
