Fri Nov 01 05:38:38 UTC 2024: ## Bumrah Out, Siraj In for India’s Third Test Against New Zealand

Mumbai, India – Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the third Test match against New Zealand due to a viral illness, Indian captain Rohit Sharma announced at the toss. Mohammed Siraj replaced the star fast bowler in the playing XI.

“Bumrah is not well, Siraj comes in for him,” Sharma stated. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the news on social media, saying that Bumrah has not fully recovered from his illness.

This comes as a blow for India, who are seeking to level the series after losing the first two Tests.

New Zealand captain Tom Latham won the toss and elected to bat first, hoping to put pressure on India. “It looks a reasonably good surface, hopefully, we can put some runs on the board,” he said.

The Kiwis also made a couple of changes to their lineup, with Ish Sodhi coming in for Mitch Santner who suffered a side strain, and Matt Henry replacing Tim Southee.

**Here are the playing XIs for the third Test:**

**India:** Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (w), Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj.
