Fri Nov 01 06:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Israel-Hezbollah Conflict Casts Shadow on Netanyahu’s Son’s Wedding
**Tel Aviv, Israel** – Amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly postponed the wedding of his son, scheduled for November 26th in Tel Aviv. According to a report by News18, Netanyahu cited security concerns, specifically the threat of drone attacks from the north, as the reason for the postponement.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah’s new chief Nasim Qassim has declared their willingness to fight for months but expressed openness to a ceasefire. Qassim, who has pledged to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor Hassan Nasrallah, made the statement during a televised address.
The postponement of the wedding comes after a Hezbollah drone attack on Netanyahu’s residence last month, which damaged the Prime Minister’s bedroom window. Netanyahu blamed the attack on Iranian agents attempting to assassinate him and his wife, vowing retaliation.
The conflict continues to escalate in Gaza, with Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, reviewing new proposals from mediators aimed at ending the war. Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri stated that they are open to any deal that alleviates the suffering of Gazans and achieves a permanent ceasefire, including the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. Abu Zuhri also emphasized the need for lifting the Israeli-led blockade on Gaza, facilitating aid and reconstruction, and securing the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli hostages.
Despite these negotiations, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has insisted that the war will only end with the eradication of Hamas.
Qatar, alongside the U.S. administration, is actively mediating a ceasefire agreement before the November 5th presidential election.
