Fri Nov 01 10:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Stand-up Comedian Kunal Kamra “Accepts” Job at Ola Electric, Demands Service Improvements

**New Delhi, India** – Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has escalated his ongoing feud with electric scooter manufacturer Ola Electric, jokingly accepting an “unofficial” offer to work with the company. This follows weeks of public criticism from Kamra over Ola’s handling of customer complaints and after-sales service.

In a sarcastic post on X (formerly Twitter), Kamra announced that he feels like an Ola employee after being tagged in thousands of customer complaints. He then presented a list of demands he says Ola must meet to resolve what he calls a “service crisis.”

Kamra’s “action plan” for Ola Electric includes:

* **7-Day Repair Commitment:** All scooter repairs must be completed within 7 business days after a customer requests service.
* **Compensation for Delays:** If repairs exceed the 7-day period, Ola should provide a temporary replacement scooter or a daily conveyance reimbursement of Rs. 500. Additionally, a Rs. 500 penalty should be imposed per day of delay, capped at Rs. 50,000.
* **Comprehensive Insurance Coverage:** Ola should offer two types of insurance with each new scooter: one for the vehicle and another specifically for servicing needs, provided at no cost to customers.

Kamra’s public pressure campaign comes on the heels of Ola Electric’s claim that it has resolved 99.1% of the 10,644 complaints it received from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA). However, Kamra and many customers have contested this claim, suggesting that issues remain unresolved.

Kamra’s post has sparked a debate on social media, with some supporting his call for stricter timelines and penalties as a much-needed push for consumer rights in India’s growing electric vehicle market. Others, however, have defended Ola Electric, urging Kamra to be less critical towards an Indian company trying to make it big.
