Fri Nov 01 11:09:39 UTC 2024: ## ‘भूल भुलैया 3’: A Disappointing Sequel That Fails to Live Up to the Hype

**Mumbai, India:** The much-anticipated sequel, “भूल भुलैया 3,” featuring the return of Vidya Balan as the iconic Manjulika, has unfortunately fallen short of expectations. Despite boasting a star-studded cast including Madhuri Dixit and Kartik Aaryan, the film struggles to maintain the charm and intrigue of its predecessor.

Director Anees Bazmee attempts to weave a tale of horror, comedy, and suspense, but the narrative quickly loses its way. While the initial premise of Manjulika’s vengeful spirit and Ruhaan (Kartik Aaryan)’s fraudulent “Ruh Baba” persona shows promise, the film descends into a chaotic mishmash of nonsensical plot twists and illogical situations.

The first half manages to keep viewers engaged with the unfolding story, but the second half drastically loses steam, becoming a tedious and confusing ordeal. The horror elements lack any real chills, relying on clichéd jump scares and predictable tropes. The comedic interludes, mainly centered around Kartik Aaryan’s attempts to replicate Akshay Kumar’s mannerisms, fall flat.

While Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit bring their charismatic presence to the screen, their performances are unfortunately hampered by the weak script. Trupti Dimri’s role remains unclear, leaving the audience confused about her purpose in the story. Supporting actors like Vijay Raj, Rajesh Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, and Sanjay Mishra deliver unimpressive and uninspired performances.

“भूल भुलैया 3” ultimately delivers a disappointing experience, failing to capture the essence of its predecessor. The film’s lack of logic, uneven pacing, and underdeveloped characters make for a frustrating watch.

**Verdict:** Avoid this one.
