**Ayodhya, October 30:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his delight at the grandeur of Diwali celebrations in Ayodhya, marking the first festival in the newly constructed Ram temple.

In a tweet, PM Modi said, “This is a special Diwali, as Lord Ram is celebrating this festival in his magnificent temple in Ayodhya for the first time in 500 years. The unparalleled beauty of the Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya is awe-inspiring. This sacred moment, after 500 years, has come after countless sacrifices and unwavering devotion of Ram devotees.”

He further stated, “We are fortunate to witness this historic occasion. I am confident that Lord Ram’s life and ideals will continue to inspire the people of India in fulfilling their dreams of a developed nation. Jai Siyaram!”

Extending his greetings to the people of Ayodhya, PM Modi lauded the “magnificent and divine” Diwali celebrations. “The holy birthplace of Ram Lalla, illuminated by lakhs of diyas, is truly moving. This light emanating from Ayodhya Dham will fill my family across the country with new enthusiasm and energy,” he wrote.

The Prime Minister concluded his message by expressing his wish for prosperity and success for all Indians under the blessings of Lord Ram.

This Diwali marks the first festival celebrated in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, inaugurated in January 2024. The construction of the temple was made possible after a lengthy legal battle, culminating in the Supreme Court’s landmark judgment paving the way for its construction. The Court also directed the government to provide a significant plot of land in Ayodhya for the construction of a mosque.
