Wed Oct 30 01:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Dodgers Dominate Yankees, Take 3-0 World Series Lead

**New York, NY** – The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their World Series dominance on Monday night, defeating the New York Yankees 4-2 in Game 3 and taking a commanding 3-0 series lead. Freddie Freeman hit a home run for the third straight game, putting the Dodgers up early. The Yankees struggled offensively once again, only managing two runs in the bottom of the ninth, with Alex Verdugo’s two-run homer proving too little too late.

Walker Buehler pitched five strong innings for the Dodgers, striking out five and giving up only two hits. The Yankees’ offense was unable to find its rhythm against Buehler, and their struggles continued after he left the game.

“I couldn’t have asked for anything more from Walker tonight,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. “There are certain players…that just really thrive in the postseason.”

The Yankees, who are hoping to avoid a sweep for the first time since 1976, will need to find their offensive spark quickly if they want to extend the series.

“We’re trying to get a game tomorrow,” said Yankees manager Aaron Boone. “That’s where our focus lies. Hopefully, we can go be this amazing story and shock the world, but right now it’s about trying to grab a game and force another one.”

The Dodgers will look to sweep the series in Game 4, which takes place Tuesday night in New York.
