Wed Oct 30 12:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Sunrisers Hyderabad Retains Key Players Head and Reddy for INR 75 Crore

Hyderabad, India: The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise has retained key players Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons, confirming their commitment to maintaining a strong squad.

The two players join the already retained Pat Cummins, Heinrich Klaasen, and Abhishek Sharma, marking a total spending of INR 75 crore by the franchise.

Australian batsman Travis Head, who formed a formidable opening partnership with Abhishek Sharma last season, was retained for a hefty INR 14 crore. Head’s contribution to SRH’s success was significant, having amassed 567 runs in 15 games at an impressive strike rate of 191.5.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, the promising young Andhra all-rounder, decided to stay with SRH for a value of INR 6 crore. He has been making waves since his India debut earlier this month and is currently part of the Indian squad touring Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

With these retentions, SRH has completed its permitted quota of five capped players. The franchise still holds INR 45 crore to build its team for the coming three seasons, as well as one Right to Match (RTM) card to purchase an uncapped player.

The team’s success last season, finishing second behind champions Kolkata Knight Riders, seems likely to continue with this strong core group.
