**Manchester, England:** Manchester United are reportedly interested in appointing Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim as their new head coach following the sacking of Erik ten Hag on Monday.
The Red Devils are prepared to pay Amorim’s €10 million (£8.3m) release clause, according to a statement from Sporting to Portugal’s financial regulator, the CMVM.
Amorim, 39, has enjoyed considerable success with Sporting, winning two Portuguese league titles since joining the club in 2020, including their first in 19 years.
