Wed Oct 30 08:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Detroit Lions Wide Receiver Jameson Williams Under Investigation for Concealed Weapon Charge

**Detroit, MI** – Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams is facing a potential arrest warrant for carrying a concealed weapon in a motor vehicle. The warrant request was issued by the Detroit Police Department after an internal affairs investigation was launched following a traffic stop on October 8th.

During the stop, police found two guns in the vehicle, one registered to Williams’ brother, who had a concealed pistol license, and the other registered to Williams, who did not. Despite being handcuffed and placed in the back of a police car, Williams was ultimately released after a series of phone calls to higher-ranking officers. No report was filed on the incident.

The Detroit Police Department has stated that they take all investigations seriously and are committed to acting in a swift and transparent manner. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s office is currently reviewing the warrant request.

Williams’ attorney, Todd Flood, has maintained that both weapons were properly registered and that his client was cooperative and respectful during the traffic stop. The Lions have also released a statement acknowledging the incident and respecting the legal process.

This investigation comes at a time when Williams is already facing a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing substances. This is the second suspension for Williams, who was previously suspended for four games last season due to violations of the league’s gambling policy.

Williams, a second-year player drafted 12th overall by the Lions in 2022, has recorded 361 receiving yards and three touchdown catches this season.
