Wed Oct 30 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Nuggets Escape Toronto with Overtime Thriller, Jokic Leads the Charge

**TORONTO –** Nikola Jokic put on a show for the Denver Nuggets, scoring 40 points, including seven in overtime, to secure a 127-125 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. The Nuggets overcame a 15-point deficit to snatch the win in a nail-biting affair.

Jamal Murray was the hero of the fourth quarter, scoring a reverse layup with less than a second remaining to send the game into overtime. He finished with 17 points alongside Christian Braun, who also contributed 17 points for the Nuggets. Aaron Gordon chipped in with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Raptors, despite a strong performance from Scottie Barnes (21 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists), were ultimately unable to hold on to their lead. Barnes left the game in the final minute of the fourth quarter after being elbowed in the right eye. RJ Barrett, playing in his season debut after recovering from a sprained shoulder, scored 20 points for Toronto. Jakob Poeltl led the Raptors with 16 points and a career-high 19 rebounds.

The game was marred by a heated moment in the fourth quarter when Russell Westbrook’s hard foul on Barnes sparked a brawl, resulting in a flagrant foul on Westbrook and offsetting technicals for Barnes and Gordon.

The Nuggets head to Brooklyn for their next game on Tuesday, while the Raptors travel to Charlotte for their next matchup on Wednesday.
