Wed Oct 30 12:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Michigan Quarterback Jack Tuttle Retires After Fifth Concussion
**ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP)** – Michigan quarterback Jack Tuttle has announced his retirement from football after suffering his fifth concussion. Tuttle, who played for the Wolverines this season after transferring from Indiana, made the announcement on social media Monday night.
Tuttle cited a history of injuries, including ligament damage in his throwing elbow, as contributing factors to his decision. “And unfortunately, the recent experience of enduring my fifth concussion has brought forth the painful truth: that I need to start prioritizing my health,” he wrote.
Tuttle started two games for Michigan this season, completing 20 of 32 passes for 208 yards with one interception. The Wolverines, who lost to Illinois 21-7 in Tuttle’s second start, have since turned to Davis Warren at quarterback.
Tuttle originally signed with Utah out of high school and spent four seasons at Indiana before joining Michigan in 2023. He finishes his collegiate career with 1,337 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
“College football has given me a bunch of memories in my life with amazing people, and it has shaped my character,” Tuttle wrote. “I am immeasurably thankful for every chance I’ve had to step onto the field and for the unwavering support of those who have stood by me throughout triumphs and tribulations.”
Tuttle plans to pursue a career in coaching.
