**San Francisco, CA** – Apple has unveiled a redesigned Mac Mini, its smallest desktop computer, featuring a brand new M4 chip and a smaller, sleeker form factor. This marks the first major redesign of the Mac Mini since 2010.
The new Mac Mini boasts two chip options: the base M4 chip with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, and the more powerful M4 Pro with up to 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU. Apple claims the M4 offers 1.8 times faster CPU performance and 2.2 times faster GPU performance than the previous M1 chip. Both chips feature a significantly faster neural engine.
The M4 Pro also features accelerated ray tracing, allowing for more realistic graphics in games and other applications. The new Mac Mini is capable of supporting up to three 6K resolution displays (at 60 Hz) when equipped with the M4 Pro chip.
The updated design brings some much-needed improvements: a smaller footprint, a taller profile with vents for better airflow, and most importantly, the addition of USB-C ports on the front for easier access. Other notable features include three Thunderbolt 4 ports (M4) or three Thunderbolt 5 ports (M4 Pro) on the back, an HDMI port, an Ethernet connection, and a headphone jack.
Starting at $599, the new Mac Mini is available for pre-order now and ships on November 8th. This powerful yet compact desktop is set to be an attractive option for anyone looking for a reliable and powerful computer for work or leisure.
