Wed Oct 30 08:44:28 UTC 2024: ## Blinkit Accused of Scam: Customer Receives Wrong Gold Coin, Platform Remains Silent
A customer has accused Blinkit, a popular quick-commerce platform, of a potential scam after receiving a 0.5-gram gold coin instead of the 1-gram coin he ordered.
Mohit Jain, the customer, took to Twitter to detail his experience. He placed an order for a 1-gram gold coin and a 10-gram silver coin from Malabar Gold and Diamonds through Blinkit. As he wasn’t home at the time of delivery, he gave his younger brother the OTP to receive the order. Upon returning home, Jain discovered that the gold coin delivered was half the weight he had ordered.
“I got 0.5gm Malabar gold coin (rose design). What I ordered was 1 gm Mata Lakshmi gold coin. Aur 20 mins baad return window has been closed, I can’t contact any support executive,” Jain stated in his tweet.
He further substantiated his claim by sharing photos of the wrong coin, screenshots of his order, and CCTV footage confirming the delivery of the incorrect item. Despite his efforts to reach Blinkit’s customer support, he only received automated responses, leaving him frustrated and unable to resolve the issue.
Jain’s experience has sparked outrage on social media, with many users questioning Blinkit’s reliability and accusing them of poor customer service. Several users shared their own negative experiences with the platform, including instances of damaged goods and unresponsive support.
This incident raises concerns about consumer protection and the reliability of quick-commerce platforms during peak shopping seasons. While Blinkit is yet to comment on the situation, Jain’s case has highlighted the need for increased accountability and transparency within the quick-commerce industry.
