**Thimphu, Bhutan:** East Bengal secured its first win of the season in a dominant 4-0 victory over Bashundhara Kings in the AFC Challenge League on Tuesday. The match took place in chilly conditions at the Changlimithang Stadium.
East Bengal’s victory was built on a strong performance, with goals from Nandhakumar Sekar, Sauvik Chakrabarti, Anwar Ali, and Dimitrios Diamantakos. The Indian side displayed impressive teamwork and took advantage of Bashundhara Kings’ defensive lapses.
The Red and Gold Brigade dominated the first half, with Nandhakumar breaking the deadlock in the 19th minute. Sauvik Chakrabarti then doubled the lead with a stunning strike from outside the box in the 28th minute.
Anwar Ali’s powerful left-footed shot from outside the box added to East Bengal’s lead in the 40th minute, before Diamantakos sealed the victory with a well-taken goal in the 45th minute.
